Choose different hardness according to mold size

Advantages for Small-sized Molds

Accurate Detail Replication: For small-sized molds, especially those used for manufacturing products with fine details, such as small electronic components and delicate jewelry items, low-hardness liquid silicone is an ideal choice. Because it has good flexibility and can fit well with the tiny details of the mold prototype. For example, when making a mold for a small jewelry pendant, the low-hardness liquid silicone can penetrate into the complex patterns and fine edges of the pendant, ensuring that the mold can accurately replicate these details after vulcanization, and the produced pendants can highly restore the design in both shape and details.

Easy Demolding: During the demolding process of small-sized molds, low-hardness liquid silicone can adapt to the shape changes of the products through its own elastic deformation, making it easier for the products to be separated from the mold. For example, when making a mold for small rubber toys, the soft liquid silicone can have a certain elastic contraction during demolding, reducing the friction on the toy products and possible damage, and ensuring the smoothness and integrity of the product surface.

Advantages for Large-sized Molds

Good Dimensional Stability: High-hardness liquid silicone can provide excellent dimensional stability for large-sized molds. Since large-sized molds need to withstand huge pressure and their own weight, high-hardness materials can better maintain the shape of the mold. For example, when making molds for large building components (such as molds for large precast concrete components), high-hardness liquid silicone can resist the huge pressure and weight during concrete pouring, ensuring that the molds will not deform during long-term use and guaranteeing the accuracy of the size and the stability of the quality of the building components.

Strong Wear Resistance: For the frequent use and large amount of friction of large-sized molds, high-hardness liquid silicone has better wear resistance. In the production process of large-sized molds, such as injection molds for automotive interior parts, molds made of high-hardness liquid silicone can withstand the friction during multiple injection molding and demolding processes, reducing the wear on the surface of the mold, prolonging the service life of the mold, and reducing the production cost.
